Impatient in air..!!

|
In the past few weeks I happened to travel by air quiet often and I observed that people are very impatient and irresponsible when they are airborne.

Despite being told several times by the crew that the passengers are supposed to keep their cell-phones switched off, they still continue talking befor the take off and switch on their phones immediately after the landing.

To worsen the matter, they also believe in taking off their seat belts even if the indicator tells them not to do so and they swiftly get up and start taking out their cabin baggage not even thinking of the other passengers whose heads are getting hurt due to their bagagge banging on their heads.

We very quickly judged the airlines, their regulations and safety measures after the mangalore crash happened. It was unfortunate and was not due to any passenger's mistake. But following simple rules like keeping the cell-phones off which actually helps in reducing the interference that the pilot faces in communicating with the ground staff will infact add to the passengers own safety.

Its always easier to blame than to change ourselves. But when it comes to a serious issue like air safety I guess all those educated individuals who are reading this blog, kindly take care to follow the safety rules in future.

Have a safe journey always..!!

Laws of Attraction

|
What used to draw us to the theatres initially? Any guesses. The formula for attracting the audiences to the movies has evolved a lot through the past few decades. Kudos to the respective directors and the production houses, who have come up with something special and innovative everytime.

Being an avid movie follower, I have taken a more than what can be called a keen interest in the stories behind the camera. And it is quiet funny to see how the laws have been conveniently changed and then tried and tested on the public.
As far as I remember, the audiences have been very happily fooled may be 8 out of 10 times giving the movie-masterminds a chance to walk with a huge bags to their swiss accounts.

The directors used to try their hands at some halka-fulka stuff (conventional and comfortable) like

The dying hero
The reincarnated hero
The hero with the budhi maa and andhi behen (or vice –versa.. who cared..)

Then the directors realised that these things are turning out to be cliche’. So they brainstormed with the team and came out with some behetar options. They did some more experimentation and presented us with

The rags to riches hero
The villain cum hero
The heroine who could act for a change :)
The hero who looked young for a change :P

But this was not enough with the rising competition and the advent of generation next it became important to also have some necessary (read unnecessary) fun and frolic which gives the director a chance to do some patch work. So there we were flooded with

A new phenomenon: The item girl
A new trend: Special appearances (Read unemployed best friends or indebted relations)
A new culture: Casting couch (Fodder for the media.. who pounced at once on our chota sa pyara sa nanha sa bacha..)

In hindi we say : “ Yahan tak to theek tha”
Until this stage everything was in the hands of the the movie makers but there was a set of more creative people ready to earn some good money through their direction and editing skills. Hmmm the Media. So we now had some breaking news like

Hero ka “scandal” ...... Heroine ki “sandal”....
Affairs: FOR the movies, OF the movies, BY the movies..
The hero who always wants to Kiss
The heroine who is actually not a Miss
Arghhh...!!

The movie makers soon realised the potential of the media and thought that instead of letting the media have all the fun why not unite in the effort towards creating a Buzz and forget all the fuss. So to our utter disgust / pleasure (depends on person to person) we are now being treated as morons who will believe whatever is shown and who will get carried away by all the fabricated or self-invited controversies surrounding the films. So now we have some very innovative stuff like:

3 idiots: Chetan Bhagat-Vidhu Vinod Chopra showdown or Aamir Khan’s disappearing act to roam around in disguise (But with the camera man in tow and a full coverage of the disappreance.. LOL)

My name is Khan: Look at the Marketing Mix..... Cricket, Politics, Religion and Bollywood... WOW..!!

Kaminey: The short-lived and long-ago died affair... Kudos..!!

I fail to understand when will the movie makers understand that we can see through the fabrication and we can decide for ourselves whether to watch the movie or not. I really don’t care if Chetan got his due or not. Whether Shahid and Priyanka are still together. Whether SRK got actually detained. And let alone whether Aamir could buy a house for his mother in Benaras. THE AUDIENCE IS NOT BOTHERED. But the whole issue shows that the producers don’t have enough confidence in their own product and so they have been miserably trying to establish a foolish connect with the audience through these fallacies.

These BRAND NEW LAWS are here to stay as long as they will keep attracting the audience and may be also help Bollywood and Media earn more money. Hence we already have Hrithik’s affair and divorce stories doing the rounds since 2009 and I guess the next controversy in the making is that of an illegitimate child.. :P (Remember.. Aamir had one just when Lagaan went on to become a super-duper hit).

Hats off to the creativity of these people. Nevertheless I think a good and honest movie does not need to follow any of these stupid laws of attraction.

Happiness

|
Have we ever thought that something as relative and volatile as happiness touches us and changes things forever..

Sometimes it is all about the perfect ending..
Sometimes it is all about the perfect start..

It changes forms..
Sometimes in a smile.. Sometimes in a tear..
Sometimes in a hug.. Sometimes in a glass of beer..

It makes you believe..
It makes you glad..
It makes your day..
It makes you mad..

Millions of moments in our lives have passed by
Where happiness has touched us and we hardly realize..
And then there are moments when we are bogged down..
when tricky situations take us by surprise..

We keep wondering why we are sad..
We keep thinking if our good old days will ever be back..
But Happiness knows when to be around..
It surely comes to your rescue and pats your back..

For it knows that you have learned to be strong..
For it knows that you can handle things when they go wrong..
Happiness is special.. Happiness is sound..
Happiness plays a part even when its not around...

hi everyone!
this is my first blog..!!

i m writing purely out of the inquisitiveness of writing a BLOG.. thats it.. :)
i created it last month.. but never got anything right on my mind..
i think its a brilliant medium to say things which u can think n then put across..
so i just thought of writing something that i truly believe in but never discussed it with anyone as such..

serendipity..
the name itself reflects what i want to say..
the beautiful coincidences that happen around us which we discover without an intent..
and then we associate it with the past.. n it suddenly reminds us how our lives are connected..

life has got this beautifully woven structure.. which we cant predict.. its secretive and unpredictable.. but often we tend to come across few such occasions where we feel that things were meant specially for us.. we want something very badly and we loose all our hopes.. but then it suddenly comes back to us in some or the other form.. and we can feel the magical element attached to it..

these are not necessarily very big things..
but some small things that we long for..
a ticket to a movie.. or catching up with old friends.. or an old favorite song that u wanted to download.. :P
sometimes the most simple things are not so simply accessible..
but the joy that u feel on achieving it is simply awesome... :)

i would like to narrate an incident here..
few days back i had been to my home..
n i got to know that one of my buddy's sister is in town with her newly born daughter "Persis"..
what a beautiful baby.. was my reaction.. when i had seen her pics for the first time..
so i just had this wish to see her..
so my friend asked me to come over n meet Persis..
i knew it wont be possible for me since i myself was in town for only 4 days..
days passed by.. n as the fourth day came i had almost forgotten bout this incident..
i was on my way to the station.. with my family..
n we stopped by a shop to have ice cream..
i was shouting on the lazy ice cream wala since he was taking so long to pack our ice cream..
i was constantly getting calls from my mom.. (she was in the car).. to hurry up..
n so i was getting angry over this guy..
i was cursing him coz he had wasted so much of my time..
as i was on the verge of leaving with the parcel..
to my utter surprise.. there i saw Persis with her mom coming out of an adjacent shop..
i dont know how much u can relate to this..
but just a look at her made my day..
since it was something so unimportant n yet so important.. (when it happened)..

i watched this movie.. Revolutionary Road..
which has so beautifully shown that life has got many turning points..
but the most challenging ones are those which are the simplest ones when u look at them..
that further makes my beleif firm that we should value simple things in life..
and start relishing the small gestures that others do for us..

you never know which one brings a smile on ur face when u need it the most..!!
